This was just free thinking, i was just typing down anything i could think off at such a late hour of night, some brainstorming, this is not my script!
………… finds a mechanical brass sparrow, winds the key, a boy materialises on the beach? in the lighthouse? the mechanical sparrow lands on his shoulder? flies up to the window in the lighthouse? to the boy?
lighthouse on the tip of the peninsula, village built around the port.
Isolated? or revered because of the important work that the lighthouse does?
Evil mechanical bird? like a curse on the haunted? on the boy?
or a guardian, or charm for the boy, wanting to pass it on to someone else to protect?
swirling sand? sink hole to another dimension?
mechanical bird and ghost boy run the lighthouse, watching all the tall ships come in safely to port.
Lighthouse slowly corrodes over many years, beyond repair, boy needs help, mechanical bird is sent out to look for help.
Lighthouse is not needed, town is abandoned and nobody lives on the peninsula anymore due to diminishing population etc.
Evil bird switches off lighthouse? boy tries to override this decision?
Mechanical bird is in charge of intricate engineering and repair that the boy is unable to access?
Mech bird and boy wander the shore line together, sadness? nobody can see them, people come for holidays and see straight through them.
One day……………………….little girl sees boy, points to bird, produces her very own silver mechanical bird, that she was given by her grandfather, or that she has always owned but never knew where from?
Both birds together form the light in the lighthouse, because it hasn't worked for years and now it does. The lighthouse was cursed for many years and now its not.
